Mike Peters (1963 - 2013) was a talented northwestern Ontario First Nations artist specializing in pottery and fine art, with an individualistic style all of his own, emmanating power with his imagery while using a "less is more" effectiveness.

Artist Statement About This Print:

“Very rarely have I created images other than birds, this is one of the first. Before I begin to work I smudge with sage or cedar and ask the grandfathers to come in and help me. The Moose has qualities of strength and endurance, with this image showing him climbing a mountain, getting stronger with every step. It is the same mountain that I am climbing.
Each of us have our own mountains to climb, and by thinking of the Moose we can build our own strength and endurance, to weather our hardships and ensure we carry on, in a Good Way.” ~~~~ Mike Peters, Artist.
